Water Purification Galvanic and Surface Treatment Sector

In the field of electroplating and surface treatment, metalworking activities and finishing processes on materials, stringent parameters in the area of water management imply appropriate facilities.

In this sector, abatement needs mainly concern heavy metals and toxic substances in the streams used in processing activities.

Trace amounts of these elements, due, for example, to galvanizing and chrome plating operations, are among the most polluting interventions in nature and lead to some of the most harmful effects on human health.

Treatments are based on removal of iron molecules, dosing of appropriate oxidants to sterilize water, and separation of colloids or suspended matter.

In some cases, where a high level of filtration is needed, membranes can be used.

Demineralization and reverse osmosis systems are used to make the water supply suitable for the production process or induce recirculation systems to recover water in production.

Progressive Grade Filtration paths, Adsorption on granular activated carbon beds, and Polishing treatments finally enable the abatement of residual pollutant molecules detected at the end of galvanic production.

Coind facilities, whichinclude monitoring technologies on the different stages of chemical processes, enable accurate monitoring of operational activities and trace pollutants in the fluid.

The parameters to be followed regarding wastewater in this sector are given in the Legislative Decree 152 of 2006 and European, regional, provincial or local regulations.

The main water treatment plants in the Galvanic and Surface Treatment Sector

Filtration, Adsorption and Polishing processes make it possible to break down pollutants and substances toxic to people's health.
Demineralization plants with ion-exchange resins and Industrial Reverse Osmosis make it possible to reintegrate water previously used in processing into the production cycle.
